Josh was born in 1990 in Bremervörde (Germany) and received his Abitur from the Niedersächsisches Internatsgymnasium Bad Bederkesa in 2010.
He received his Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in 2019 from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Germany). He worked on the synthesis of terminal transition metal pnictide complexes by activation of small molecules under the supervision of Prof. Sven Schneider.
In February 2020 he joined the group of Prof. Jose M. Goicoechea at the University of Oxford as a Walter-Benjamin Fellow funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
Since March 2023 he is an independent research group leader at the the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin funded by a Liebig scholarship of the Fond der Chemischen Industrie.
Outside of the Lab, Josh enjoys travelling, hiking and going to concerts (Desert Rock, Post-Rock, heavy stuff).
